Bitcoin Implementation Consolidation Strategy

[AIR-3][AIS-3][BPC-3]

Overview

This document outlines the strategy for consolidating multiple Bitcoin implementation branches into a cohesive, hexagonal architecture-based implementation that follows the Bitcoin Development Framework v2.5 requirements.

Source Branches

  • feature/bitcoin-core: Core Bitcoin implementation
  • feature/bitcoin-implementation: Implementation-specific details
  • feature/bitcoin-layer2: Layer 2 protocols (RGB, DLC, Lightning)
  • feature/bitcoin-testing: Testing infrastructure
  • feature/bitcoin-hexagonal-architecture: Hexagonal architecture structure (base branch)

Consolidation Approach

  1. Structure First: Maintain the hexagonal architecture from feature/bitcoin-hexagonal-architecture
  2. Preserve ports and adapters pattern
  3. Keep proper separation of concerns
  4. Maintain BIP implementation documentation

  5. Implementation Details: Selectively incorporate from other branches

  6. Core Bitcoin functionality from feature/bitcoin-core
  7. Layer 2 protocols from feature/bitcoin-layer2
  8. Testing infrastructure from feature/bitcoin-testing

  9. Conflict Resolution Priorities:

  10. Structure conflicts: Prefer hexagonal architecture
  11. Implementation conflicts: Manual merge preserving functionality
  12. Documentation conflicts: Combine comprehensive documentation from all branches

Compliance Verification

All consolidated code will be verified against:

  1. Bitcoin Development Framework v2.5 requirements
  2. AI labeling standards [AIR-3][AIS-3][BPC-3]
  3. Hexagonal architecture principles
  4. BIP implementation status documentation

Next Steps

  1. Create consolidated PR from feature/bitcoin-consolidated to dev
  2. Review and approve individual component consolidations
  3. Run comprehensive test suite
  4. Merge to dev upon successful validation
